Frequently Asked Questions
While all of your questions concerning our processes may not be answered here, perhaps one of the items below will provide some clarity to how you should proceed.
What type of documents can be shredded?
Concerning paper-based files or documents, we tell people that if you can tear it, we can shred it. It's really that simple.
If it's media you're dealing with, we can handle anything from large servers down to the smallest of USB Flash Drives.
How much does shredding cost?
As much as we'd love to give you a base price, unfortunately we would need more information to provide you with the most accurate quote. There are many factors used in determining the proper solution in handling your confidential files. Such as, but not limited to:
-
Location (Atlanta area vs S. Georgia)
-
Volume (1 box vs 100 boxes)
-
Accessibility (Stairs, elevators, loading dock, etc.)
-
Recurrence (1x Cleanout vs monthly/weekly service)
-
Type of files needing to be destroyed
What should I do to prepare for my files for destruction?
Simple...
1. Separate paper from media.
2. Remove any heavy metals or plastics.
3. Provide access to our team for the removal of your files.
How can I be sure that my files will be destroyed?
Once we have agreed upon a proper solution, your files will follow a rigorous chain of custody down to the minute they are destroyed. Our team will provide documentation of the material, containers/units, and weight removed from your location. Depending on the solution you choose, you will either have access to visually confirm (via on-site shredding) that your data is destroyed or you will receive notification that all material has been destroyed under 24-hour camera surveillance. Once complete, you will receive a "Certificate of Destruction" for your peace of mind.
Being GCIC vetted requires that all of our employees receive yearly training and fingerprint back ground checks to adhere to the stringent standards set forth by the GBI.
What happens to my documents once they are shredded?
We are, essentially, the first step in the recycling process. Once your material is destroyed, it is then baled and prepped for transportation to one of our partners in the fiber industry to begin the process of recycling.
